Documentation
Platform documentation
Everything you need to operate CargoFide — from onboarding your first shipment to reading Cargo Intelligence analytics. Organised by module.
Getting started
Three steps from invitation to your first uploaded document.
01
Access your account
CargoFide accounts are created by your freight forwarder. You will receive an email invitation with a link to set your password.
02
Your first shipment
Once logged in, your forwarder's team will have already created your first shipment. Open it from the dashboard to see the full workspace.
03
Upload your documents
Navigate to the Documents tab in any shipment workspace to upload trade documents. Your forwarder reviews and approves them in real time.
Platform modules
Six interconnected modules sharing one operational truth. Each is documented end-to-end.
Shipment Management
Create and track shipments end-to-end. Status progression from booking to delivery, carrier details, container tracking, and full lifecycle history.
Document Workflow
Upload, review, approve, and version trade documents. Admin review queues, client upload portal, revision cycles, and expiry management.
Quotations & Proforma Invoices
Structured quotation workflow from request to acceptance. Line-item charges, PI generation, client acceptance, and quotation-to-shipment conversion.
Cargo Intelligence (DVIE)
OCR-powered document extraction, cross-document discrepancy detection, trade analytics, and HS code intelligence built on your own cargo data.
Notifications
Real-time in-platform notifications for every workflow event. Quotation updates, document approvals, PI issuance, and shipment milestones.
Client Portal
The client-facing workspace: shipment visibility, document uploads, quotation responses, PI acceptance, and cargo intelligence dashboards.
Key concepts
The vocabulary you'll see across the platform, in one place.
Shipment reference
Every shipment is assigned a unique reference (e.g. FP-CGF-2026-0088) used across all documents, notifications, and the audit trail.
DVIE
Document Validation & Intelligence Engine — CargoFide's OCR layer that reads uploaded trade documents, extracts field values, and flags cross-document discrepancies.
Forwarder / Admin
The freight forwarding company (Sharprising) and its operations team. Admins have full write access to all shipments and documents within their tenant.
Client
The importer or exporter. Clients have read access to their own shipments and can upload documents, respond to quotations, and accept proforma invoices.
Health score
A 0–100 score calculated by DVIE for each shipment, based on document completeness, extraction confidence, and open discrepancies.
Tenant isolation
Row-Level Security in the database ensures Client A can never see Client B's data, even within the same platform deployment.
